This shares the same model as the Onyxian Whelpling pet that was the 5th Anniversary pet. You can only find this pet outside Onyxia’s Lair in Dustwallow Marsh, you might have to wait for it to spawn, there are usually only 2 at a time on a 5-10 minute respawn timer. Check behind Onyxia’s Lair as some spawn there too.
This pet is heavily camped, so if you find one at it is poor quality, it is worth keeping until you can upgrade. You can try CRZ with a low pop server to increase your chances or hitting it right after a server restart.
Spawn of Onyxia do not appear to be linked to any other pet battles in the area, so you will need to look for its spawn.
Another trick is to try and return to the pre-Theramore destruction phase for less competition.
These vicious fire-breathing whelps escaped Onyxia’s lair and fled into the surrounding region. Handle with extreme caution.
